Fans React to Deion Sanders Being Named Head Coach of Colorado Buffaloes

Jackson State coach Deion Sanders, 55, has been named head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, the University of Colorado announced on Saturday.

Deion Sanders leaving Jackson State to become head coach at Colorado

Deion Sanders, 55, who is currently the head coach over at Jackson State, has been named head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, the University of Colorado announced over the weekend. The announcement came on the heels of Jackson State beating Southern on Saturday with a score of 43-24.

AD Rick George has named COACH PRIME @DeionSanders to be the 28th full-time head football coach at CU.

“There were a number of highly qualified and impressive candidates interested in becoming the next head football coach at Colorado, but none of them had the pedigree, the knowledge and the ability to connect with student-athletes like Deion Sanders,” Rick George, who is the Colorado athletic director, said in a statement, per ESPN. “Not only will Coach Prime energize our fanbase, I’m confident that he will lead our program back to national prominence while leading a team of high quality and high character.”
