Super Bowl week in Miami is a wrap, and man, it was a doozy. I was sort of shocked at how many people from the 305 told us during our trip that the Super Bowl should really only be in Miami, but now I sort of get it. Not even sort of, Miami really is the perfect city for this. While the NFL certainly needs to spread things out, Miami is really a perfect city for the spectacle. The city was amazing throughout the week and the game lived up to the hype.

It's obvioulsy a crazy time, but as we said last week, the Complex Sports crew was down in Florida for the past two weeks to take in Pro Bowl and then Super Bowl. We interviewed Jarvis Landry on our 'Load Management' podcast. We also talked to Odell Beckham Jr. and had some fun with a bunch of Pro Bowlers. To say it was a fun two weeks would be an understatement. Of course, while in Miami, we were able to take in the sights and sounds of the wild scene around Super Bowl LIV. Here's everything we observed during a week in Miami.

Miami Showed Out and Gave Back

As I said in the intro, Miami really is the perfect city for the Super Bowl. There were almost too many events to attend throughout the week, but the ones we did hit we're very, very dope. In particular, the Karen Civil and NFL #Audible dinner was a great event that highlighted women in different sports industries who are changing the game off the field. Not only a great event, but something that celebrates women in sports who are making a difference.

In addition to the great event hosted by Karen Civil, we had the opportunity to check out a special workshop by Shoe Surgeon at the Man of the Year Community event on Friday where he worked with the Boys & Girls club to design their own sneakers. A truly great event and opportunity for kids to not only inteact with NFL stars, but also design their own sneakers.

Odell and Jarvis Seem Optimistic About the Browns

Jarvis Landry prior to a Browns Steelers game

By pure coincidence, we were able to talk to both Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry will in Miami. You can read the Odell interview here and listen to the Jarvis conversation here. As a Browns fan, I will say, both WRs seemed pretty optimistic about the team going forward behind new head coach Kevin Stefanski. Odell even used the word optimistic during our conversation. Of course, both Landry and Odell can't do it themselves when it comes to the Browns and a large part of the future success will come down to Baker Mayfield getting back on track next season.

Jarvis Landry knew when the Browns' season was going downhill.

"I just don't know after those 15 plays, what the plan was."

The NFL Had the Best Super Bowl Commercial

I was at the game, so I didn't get to see every single commercial in real time. However, they did play a few in the stadium, and I can tell you that nobody did it better than the actual NFL, who debuted their new spot right before the game started. Not only did the star-studded commercial, which you can watch above, deliver, but they brought it to reality with the commercial's star running out on the field. Let me tell you, the crowd went nuts. What a great moment.
