The NFL is in a new space this year where trades and speculation are running rampant like it's the NFL. We saw how the Antonio Brown drama unfolded with the Raiders and are still waiting for the Jaguars to deal Jalen Ramsey. And while the rumors aren't exactly swirling in Minnesota right now, there is some specultation surrounding star WR Stefon Diggs after he missed practice on Wednesday without suffering an injury.
Things have been going far from great with the Vikings, especially in the passing game with Kirk Cousins, and Diggs was visibly upset during the loss to the Bears on Sunday. It's unclear if this frustration led to Diggs missing practice, but he hasn't talked to the media in two weeks, and speculation is building by the day.
Could they actually move on from Diggs? That we don't know, but if the Vikings are sniffing around for a trade, there will be no shortage of suitors for the start wideout, who isn't even 26 yet. As the rumors and speculation continues to build up, the Complex Sports team put together a list of five teams that should absolutely trade for Diggs.
New England Patriots
The Patriots are always looking to upgrade and after cutting Antonio Brown, they could surely use some more help at the WR position. Diggs would be a perfect addition in New England.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have routinely been linked to star WRs on the market so this should be no surprise. They're in need of more weapons on the outside and Diggs would thrive as the No. 1 WR in San Fran.
Jacksonville Jaguars
While the trade rumors surrounding the Jaguars have been all about Jalen Ramsey, they might as well go out and get Gardner Minshew some help. The young QB is making it work right now, but there's no question that the Jags could stand for an upgrade at WR.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are super legit this season, but as we saw against the Saints, they could still stand to upgrade their offense to a degree. While Amari Cooper is elite, adding Diggs would give Dallas a dynamic punch on offense that could take them to the next level. Dallas should be all over this.
Green Bay Packers
Mark this under something that will likely never happen but makes a whole lot of sense. The Packers are desparate for some WR help and could offer the Vikings picks to get this done, but it's highly unlikely Minnesota trades a stud WR to a bitter rival. However, if they can put differences aside, I think they would realize how much sense this makes for everyone involved.
