This is the X-Trux. It's a converted Chevrolet Silverado that gives you 800 horsepower and 100 MPGe. Headed by Bob Lutz, VIA Motors rolled out a new line of extended-range trucks and SUVs in Detroit this week, headlined by the plug-in hybrid X-Trux. IT's got a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a 5.3-liter Chevy V8 and two 402hp dual electric motors. Monitored with an iPad in the cabin, the battery is recharged by a generator, when the charge gets down to 20 percent. How's that for efficient?
