Common Halloween costumes are bikers or racecar drivers, but there's always one extremely important thing missing: the racecar or the bike. What's up with that? With the spooky holiday only a few days away, we decided to come up with a couple ideas that have been created in people's kitchens and garages that can give your costume a 3D element. Including the real-life planes, trains, and automobiles, here is How To Dress Like a Vehicle For Halloween.
Army Helicopter
Who says baby costumes have to be cute? This is one of the ultimate two-in-one functioning customes we've ever seen. The baby looks like a badass, the dad looks like a genius, and nobody has to physically carry the child. It's a great overall win.
Batcycle
A full-on Tumbler might have been a bit too big of a task, but some dad was able to build his kid a makeshift Batcycle that has a pretty great resemblance. You know, minus the rockets and machine guns.
E.T. Bicycle
This one has a little less focus on the actual bicycle, but this is a perfectly easy costume to whip up. Just print out a the face, buy a red hoodie and steal one of those red baskets from your local grocery. Pop some handle bar grips on the sides of the basket, and you're good to go!
Lightning McQueen
Most store-bought Lightning McQueen costumes suck, so it's up to you to make a cool one. It can easily be done with some cardboard and a decent painting hand. One suggestion that the above version doesn't have: cup holders.
Army Tank
Bless these dads that take the time to make adaptations for kids that are unfortunately stuck in wheelchairs. A mobile Army tank would easily be the most amazing costume wherever this kid went.
Fire and Rescue Boat
A perfect costume for all those women who found a swimming pool full of liquor and dove in.
Thomas the Tank Engine
When we were younger, we had as much wooden Brio track for little Thomas as we did bright yellow Hot Wheels track, so he's a bit of a legend in our books. However, if you're not into this idea and want to be more "adult," you could always go as The Little Engine That Could and use the namesake as a pick-up line, if you know what we mean.
Fire Truck
This is Ethan. His family, the Holts, is awesome, and has built him a variety of costumes, including this sweet firetruck. This is a great adult costume, though, too. What girls don't like burly firemen?
Ice Cream Truck
This video was actually posted on Reddit about eight months ago, but with Halloween fast approaching, it's gained a ton of momentum across the Interwebs lately. Carter, the little boy in the video, was born with spina bifida, which is a defect in which the backbone and spinal canal do not entirely close around the spinal cord. It has physically constrained him to a wheelchair, but certainly can't tame his playful and positive attitude.
With some help from his amazing father, Carter rolled around last year's Halloween in this perfectly built ice cream truck costume, complete with service window and music to boot. According to one of the Redditers, he's also done the Batmobile. We're sure we'll be hearing about this year's creative build as soon as Carter hits the streets.
Bumblebee Transformer Camaro
This is probably the image that you thought of when a car Halloween costume. It's also the most elaborate and awesome on this list. Although there are ways to do this in a homemade fashion with cheaper materials, nothing will compare to this.
