A Brief History of Drake's Cars

Drake is an eclectic person, to put it lightly. His tastes and his styles are all over the place. But there's one are where he seems to be honing in on one general preference, and that's cars. After growing up with a couple average cars while working on Degrassi back in the day, Drake has been going all out with his whips lately. He's been seen in cars the cost $200,000, $300,000, $400,000, and, of course, more than $1M with the Bugatti. He hasn't had a lot of rides, but when he does show up in one (or five), they're always super lux. Check out A Brief Evolution of Drake's Cars.

Base Mrsp: $18,682 (1998)

As we've shown you, Drake has frequently used his Instagram account as a showroom for a variety of cars, private jets, boats, big wheels, and any other type of vehicle that he's been riding in. One of the best gems from his ostentatious account is this great photo of him with an old Chevrolet Malibu. The caption "First Car. First Crew. ATF" suggests that this was originally his first car, even though, he also calls this next ride his first car, as well. It's too bad he's in a fifth-generation (1997-2003), which is front-wheel drive, and not the original Chevelle spinoffs were rear-wheel muscle.

Base Mrsp: $26,490

We get an up-close and grainy look at what we assume is Drake's first car after he got landed a roll on Degrassi, a 2004 Acura TSX. This is footage from an old Noggin show called Unscripted, on which Drake gives a Cribs-like tour of the house where he lives, which is still his mom's house at the time. He calls the Acura "my baby, I guess," and recently brought the Ac back to light with the lyric "This ain't the son you raised who used to take the Acura/5 a.m. going to shoot Degrassi up on Morningside," on his album Nothing Was the Same.

Base Mrsp: $286,695 (2011)

Aside from the Bugatti, which has seen a ton of attention this year, this is the car we've seen Drake in the most. The Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible has a W12 engine, which puts out 621hp and 590 lb-ft of torque on the 2013 model. This seems to be the catalyst to the subsequent Bents we've seen him in during the past year.

Base Mrsp: $193,300 (2013)

The two cars might look very similar, but the car in the "Started From the Bottom" video is not the same as the Supersports that he owns. It's pretty easy to notice, if you look at the different grille, no vents on the hood, and the different wheels. Those rims are specific to the GTC V8, which has a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that's good for 500bhp and 487 lb-ft on the 2013 model. He probably didn't want to be stepping all over his own ride.

Base Mrsp: $1.4M (2008)

You guys might know the 2008 Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir Edition as the car that we called boring. We maintain this, considering he could have purchased much flashier, newly updated Bugattis instead of this one. Which is just black with an ugly interior. But we're done with that. He did enough to embarass himself when he couldn't start the damn thing (below). Oh, and he's even driving one in GTAV.

Base Mrsp: $296,000 (2013)

This uber-lux Bentley is a bit of a mystery. We definitely know that Drake's taken rides in this car lately, but there's also the above Instagram photo, which we're certain is not the other two Bentleys we just mentioned (hardtop), and it looks like it's the Mulsanne door cuts. We don't think he owns it, but we defintiely know it's been floating around one his camps.

Base Mrsp: $398,970 (2013)

The Phantom, more than any other car on this list, has our attention most. Why? Check out the Instagram video below. See those little sparkles peeking through the window? We know two cars with a fiber optic starlight roof: The Wraith, which the door handles obviously prove this is not, and the Phantom Celestial, which is black and a one-off. So what's the deal? Did Drake or Birdman get a special bespoke model somehow? We'll get back to you when we know the answer.
