Chevy has given us the track version of the upcoming SS (seen above), but the actual road-ready car will likely have a much different feel. The limited release this year will be the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and we cannot wait to get our hands on one.

These days auto makers are not nearly as much about specialization, as they are about competing in every single market space available. Whether it's the new CUV rage, electric vehicles, or small compacts, people want a slice. That's what's going on with the Mercedes-Benz CLA. The miniature Benz is basically a baby CLS and will debut in Detroit this month. The car maintains heavy cues from the Style Coupe and will likely come with 4Matic standard and a turbo-four in the AMG option.

We haven't seen a "sport" label on an Audi since 2005's TT quattro. We're hoping to see it again on the R8 GT. Test rides have been spotted. Rumors are flying. And, fingers crossed, we'll see this powerful vehicle at the tail end of 2013. If tradition holds, the "sport" designation could also mark the end to this generation of R8s.

The 2014 Cayman was officially unveiled recently at the L.A. Auto Show but won't be ready to hit dealerships until spring of this yaer. The second-generation Cayman is a bit bigger (1.4 inches longer), yet it's leaner and has a lower center of gravity. A choice between a 2.7-liter engine, which replaces the previous 2.9-liter, and a reworked 3.4-liter engine give the six-cylinders new appeal. With help from an electro-mechanical steering system and the option for Active Suspension Management, rumors say the car is up to 10 seconds faster per lap around the 'ring.

The leaks that poured out of General Motors this year were worse than A$AP Rocky's album leaking a full month ahead of time. They couldn't really keep anything secret, and as a result, the auto industry got wind that a twin-turbo V6 is in the works for this year. It's purely speculation where this engine will end up, at this point, but it's only a matter of time before Cadillac launches an ATS-V. And dont' forget about that Buick Grand National rumor.

Infiniti's got a whole new naming system-everything now begins with "Q"-and with it, some all new rides. First up: The Q50. The luxury sedan, set for unveil in Detroit in two weeks, replaces the current G Sedan. What's exciting? How about the potential of a Mercedes-Benz engine? That's right, the Q50 may be the first Infiniti to benefit from the cross-pollination of parent companies Nissan and the German giant.

Feast your eyes on what Bentley is claiming as the "fastest four-seat convertible in the world." Hot off the press, the GT Speed convertible will boast a twin-turbo, 6.0-liter W12 that puts out 616 bhp, all while improving its fuel efficiency by 15 percent. What other drop top has those kind of numbers to go with an eight-speed trans?

The 2014 E-Class has a completely new look. Gone are those signature split headlights, and in come a set of sweeping eyes that comfortably fit in with the rest of the classes (we see you LEDs!). The car also no longer has the bulbous rear wheel wells. For the first time, customers will have the option to have both the E320 BlueTec diesel and the 4Matic all-whee-drive transmission. You can also opt for the E400 hybrid or the E550.

Alfa made the claim that the new 4C is going to be the "car to end all cars." How's that for a confident statement? With a 296hp mid-engined sports car promising 4.5-second 0-60 time, it's sure to be an extremely fun drive.

Just as the Phantom line has been expanding, Rolls-Royce is juicing up the Ghost line, reaching beyond the sedan segment. We expect two new Ghost models, one of which will be a longer, lower coupe. Under the hood, expect something similar to the 563bhp twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V12 engine we get in the sedan.

This is more like a far-reaching hope than having an actual confirmed release or launch, but we'd like to think that we might get an official unveil of the Facel Vega concept in 2013. The name's got fantastic history that deserves to be reborn, and the initial images have given us the tingles.

This diesel Jeep has been winning hearts over in Europe for some time now, and the option is finally coming to America. A 237hp, 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 with 406 lb-ft of torque and 28 combined MPG should quench our thirst.

But ... there's already an M6 Coupe, you say. Yes, there sure is, but there's no Gran Coupe, which will live in between the M6 and the M5, as a competitor to the Audi S7 and the Mercedes-Benz CLS63. A direct-injected 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 will send 560 horsepower and 500 lb-ft. of torque to the rear, controlled by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with an Active M differential.

Dressed in sportier side skirts, dual rear exhaust, and 17-inch rims, the ST version of the tiny GM hatch will pack 197 horsepowerfrom a 1.6-liter ecoboost four-banger. We love when we can brag about homegrown talent.

Maserati is aiming to get a little more mainstream, planning on releasing five new cars by 2016, and the Quattroporte is leading that pack. The sedan is recently refreshed, and is slated to hit the streets this year with four engine options, including a Ferrari-sourced 3.8-liter V8.

The unveiling of a new Impala was a huge step for Chevy in '12 and now we'll finally have the launch in 2013. With a little bit of Malibu and a little bit of Camaro, new Impala will be expected to sell with high success, largely impart to its storied 50-plus-year history. After the previous couple generations that have been, well, pretty boring, to put it frankly, the sportier, more refined design has piqued our interest.

If you browse the Chevy catalog right now for "LS7," you'd find it housed in the home of the company's flagship vehicle, the Corvette. And not just in the Corvette, it's in the Corvette ZO6. The 427 7.0-liter LS7 engine is Chevy's most powerful small-block V8 ever. Lightweight and naturally aspirated, the LS7 currently produces 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque. That trademark for "Z28" that GM recently filed makes a little more sense now, doesn't it?

2012 was a huge year for Cadillac. With the launch of the ATS, the General Motors company is breaking into a smaller, untapped segment, and the XTS renewed people's faith that this is a top luxury brand. Now it's time to hit the electric market. The ELR will be based on the Chevy Volt, but will come as a coupe and will have improved power.

Some people knock the Venom for being "just a stretched out Lotus concoction." To those people we say, "you can kindly get the F out." Minus the kindly. In this situation numbers are the focus, and when that number is 1,500 horsepower, it's impossible to dismiss this Hennessey Performance project.

At this point the new Falcon is a giant question mark. Bentley has said that it's going to completely redesign the entire SUV, after the intial concept was met with heavy disdain. Although production isn't set until 2015, we should see the new Luc Donckerwolke work before year's end.

Hey Prius drivers, ever laugh at a Porsche owner and think "I'm saving so much more gas money than that guy." With the 918, your gig is up. The $850,000 supercar promises a 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds. With a hybrid engine, it also promises a top speed of just under 100mph when just the electric motor is humming. Porsche R&D chief Wolfgang Dürheimer's pet project in a single word: Impressive.

From a technological standpoint, the i3 megacity car is one of the most alluring stories of the new year. One hundred percent purpose-built, the pure electric car is sturdily made out of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic underneath and wows with a luxury renewable interior. On just a three-hour charge, BMW is estimating between 80 to 100 miles. Not too shabby for a car that will be a little less than $50,000.

After all the photos, the teasers, the rumors, and the video game previews, we are officially two weeks away from the unveiling of the new Corvette. The current model has been in production since '05, and (thanks to plenty of renderings/leaks) anticipation for the new 'vette feels like it's been building since '06. We've got wind that the C7 will feature a 450hp small block V8 as an engine option and will have a much more sophisticated and luxurious interior, in attempts to compete with the Italian likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.

No longer billed as the F70, like everybody originally thought, the Enzo successor has slowly been unwrapping itself. First it was the all-carbon fiber monocoque, then we got a couple spy photos, and most recently, we got confirmation that the car would run on a V12 HY-KERS engine, derived from the 6.3-liter V12 in the F12berlinetta, coupled with a dual-clutch gearbox. Some people have already called this car one of the biggest debuts of the entire decade, and considering it's going to be Ferrari's fastest and most advanced road car ever, we'd can't argue.

Considering how much we've loved up on the P1 already, we almost feel like we're beating a dead horse, at this point. And even though we named the P1 design study the most outrageous car of 2012, we don't get the official, 100 percent finished product until this year, so there's plenty of anticipation yet to be had. Already having fallen in love with the wide-grinning stare and sweeping lines, we can't wait to finally wrap our hands around the wheel and experience the drive.
