To all of you 18-30-year-old-males that make up a large portion of our demographic, Happy Mother's day. If you live in a different state, make sure you whip out your cell and give the madre a call. If you live with her, go give her a giant hug and kiss and let her know how much she means to you. It goes a long way. Know what else goes a long way? Choosing the right car to drive for the next 10 years.

In the word association game, soccer moms are instantly related to minivans. We're here to make the argument that t doesn't have to be this way. Although minivans are popular among mothers for a reason (lots of space, cool TVs, plenty of cool little storage gadgets), there are a plethora of cars, SUVs, and CUVs these days that eliminate the restriction of driving a van. We've got some suggestions for every type of mom in the book, including those who don't even take care of their kids anymore. Take a look at these 10 Great Mom Cars That Aren't Minivans.

10. Subaru Outback

For the moms who travel a lot and love taking their kids on camping trips, the Outback is perfect. It's rugged enough to not have to worry about kids messing anything up, it has plenty of space to store equipment, and the adaptive cruise control is amazing. Anything that helps destress moms gets points.

We know a friend who owns a Fit, and her mantra for the car is "how much shit can I fit in the FIt?" From what's she's told us, she can fit a ton of shit, including an enormous dresser that she had to move. A smaller vehicle with a lot of space is great for moms on the go.

8. Chevrolet Impala

For all the classy mother out there, the new Impala will impress. It's not out yet, but just tell your kids to save up all their gifts from the year and put that money toward the first down payment. Then, you'll only have to pay about 90 percent of it. Steal!

Just because your mom is a mom doesn't mean she doesn't like to still have fun. Just try to ignore the fact that you just spent your children's college tuition.

6. Toyota Camry

The Camry might be a little boring, and it might seem a little stale, but there's a reason that you see so many of them. They're reliable, and you know exactly what you're getting, that being a great no-frills family car that gives you full size without sacrificing the mpgs too much.

Even though they'll always be your babies, you are no longer required to take care of anybody (even though we know you still want to).
