BMW calls this the 3-Series GT, and what GT means in Bavarian, apparently, is kammback. Although we appreciate the added utility of a hatch, rather than a trunk, and rather like the Mercedes-Benz CLS-esque roof line, we don't understand why it has been lifted. Nobody is going to take a rear driven BMW luxury car off-road, so all that serves to do is increase drag, thereby increasing fuel consumption, and raise the center of gravity, thereby worsening handling.
