We're big proponents of diesel; it's clean, its efficient, it makes mountains of torque, and it doesn't involve heavy, polluting batteries in any way. Diesel isn't the future of clean motoring, but if you ask us, it is the present.

Right now, in the massive but not hilariously so, 1/2 ton truck segment Ram is leading the way, having announced a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 that will go into the Ram 1500 and is promised to return best in class fuel economy. Ram hasn't given us specs on the engine yet, but we're assuming that it will be identical or similar to the 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 that powers the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel. Mmmmmmmmm... torque.
