25. Lamborghini Countach

Years: 1974-1990
Complex Says: The Countach was a madman's idea of what a car should be. It was only 42.1 inches tall and almost as wide as it was long. It featured styling elements too over the top to be put on anything other than a Lambo. This was also the first production car to feature scissor doors. So it is both to blame and thank for that.

Complex Says: This sexy little ride was made by Ferrari, but didn't bear the Ferrari name. Rather, it bore the name of Enzo's son, Dino. It was intended to be a down-market Ferrari. It featured a mid-mounted V6, excellent handling, a more attainable price, and a soft, sensual look. Today, largely because of the dead sexy body, this is one of the most desired "Ferraris" by collectors.

Complex Says: One of the dominant racing cars of its day, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL also managed to be a style icon with its innovative gullwing doors and aggressive hood creases. It's a truly timeless design that looks just as avant garde and awesome as it did the day it was unveiled. It doesn't hurt that it was piloted by Sir Stirling Moss, either.

Complex Says: The "coffin-nose" Cord was not only the most gorgeous gangster car of the '30s, but it was also one of the most technologically advanced. It featured things like variable-speed windshield wipers in a day when most wipers were still operated by hand crank.

Complex Says: The Lamborghini Miura was the car that inspired the term "supercar." It really is the archetype of what we today think of as a supercar. Complex Says: The Auburn Boattail Speedster was an instant hit. Its rakish good looks and elegant yet athletic demeanor made it a go-to car for the film industry. The fact that it could top 100mph certainly helped too. The factory test drivers actually took them out onto public roads and made sure that it would. The Auburn, Ind., police eventually just gave up and stopped trying to control them.

Complex Says: The avant garde teardrop shape of the Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg of brave design features. The most noteworthy feature of this 210hp supercar was the fin running down the length of the car. This was formed by riveting, as the magnesium-aluminum alloy it was made from was quite flammable and made it impossible to use normal welding techniques in the construction of the car.

Years: 1936-1938
Complex Says: The Mercedes-Benz 540K Spezial Roadster has been described as a "marvel of proportion," which is not just true, but also astounding, since it is a 17-foot two-seater. The stunning, imposing 540K Spezial Roadster wasn't just for show, either. It boasted a supercharged, race-inspired V8 that put out 180hp and sent the 540k to 105mph, cementing its reputation as both a luxury car and a supercar in 1936. Only 26 of these were made, and they were all custom orders.
