Bose has been installing active noise cancellation in cars like the Infiniti Q50 and Cadillac ELR with Bose sounds systems for a few years now, but those with Beats, Bowers and Wilkins, or unbranded sound systems have been out of luck.
Now Bose is allowing this system to be placed on any NXP Semiconductors chip, which means that it's going to become much more common. As long as it only cancels wind and tire noise, and it doesn't delete engine noise, we'd be happy to see this in as many cars as possible. Hell, even getting rid of the engine noise when cruise control is active could be nice.
