College football fans rejoice: a playoff is coming soon. The fuckery that has been the Bowl Championship Series won’t leave a mid-major like Boise State wondering what could have been anymore. Commissioners of 11 conferences submitted a proposal that will almost certainly lead to a four-team playoff starting in 2014. A selection committee will pick the four teams. As the AP’s Ralph Russo points out, a playoff equals huge ratings and a new big money TV contract.
The end of the BCS might just get its own holiday in some states. Now let’s all wait for the addicts to rally for a 64-team playoff that goes into March. #junkies You already know ESPN wants football on a constant loop.
