The Raptors Share Which Teammates They’d Grab In A Zombie Apocalypse

At yesterday’s Toronto Raptors media day, the players answered basketball questions, but also shared which teammate they'd grab in a zombie apocalypse.

At yesterday’s Toronto Raptors media day, the players answered a bunch of questions about life and basketball, but also an all-important one: which teammate they’d grab during a zombie apocalypse.

While some players simply offered up a name with no explanation, others thought things out a little more thoroughly.

“I ain’t grabbing nobody, I’m getting outta there,” said reigning Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes.

Gary Trent Jr. offered up Christian Koloko, saying “he’s taller, they’re gonna eat him first. He’s slower.”

Josh Jackson, on the other hand, didn’t seem to think he’d survive long enough to choose someone. “I don’t know, I might be dead,” he said before erupting in laughter.

Veteran Thaddeus Young and Raptors newcomer Juancho Hernangomez were both keen on choosing Fred Van Vleet. Young stated they “both see eye to eye” while Hernangomez thought that “Fred would be smart.”

Sophomores Justin Champagnie and Rexdale native Dalano Banton chose each other confidently with Banton stating that “they’d run the field.”

The Raptors will open their 2022-23 season on Oct. 19 when they will face the Cleveland Cavaliers at home at Scotiabank Arena.

They will also travel to Edmonton on Oct. 2 and Montreal on Oct. 14 during the preseason to square off against the Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics respectively.
