The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the most exciting and feared teams in the NHL, but the Spittin' Chiclets podcast is confused as to why the crowd isn't all that into them during home games.

"I got a bone to pick with the fans," host Paul Bissonnette said.

Ryan Whitney followed it up by questioning what happened when Auston Matthews scored his third goal of the game.

"Is this like a replay with no volume," Whitney said in regards to the fan noise following the hat trick. "What is going on, dude?"

"There might have been five hats on the ice," Bissonnette said next.

The two seemed baffled that the crowd was quiet in one of the most exciting moments of a hockey game. They could not understand why the team wasn't cheering for Matthews or Mitch Marner, who recorded 100 points for the Leafs a season ago.

"The silence is deafening," Whitney added.

Considering the skyrocketing ticket prices, Bissonnette wants to see the fans on the upper bowl make their way down.

“They need to swap out the upper bowl and the lower bowl for one game and see how it plays out," Bissonnette said.

Though the likelihood of that happening is likely zero, it raises the question of if the team's real fans are no longer able to catch games up close and personal.

The Leafs recently dropped "You Make My Dreams" by Hall & Oates in favour of Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness." That didn't last long as the team just axed that song as well.
