The Toronto Maple Leafs have once again begun their quest to make it out of the first round of the NHL playoffs for the first time since 2004, though it’s off to a rocky start.
For the second year in a row, the Leafs are squaring off against the Tampa Bay Lightning, who blew them out 7-3 in the first game. To make matters worse, winger Michael Bunting will have a hearing today for an illegal check to the head against the Lightning’s Erik Cernak.
Even though it’s a best-of-seven series, it was deja vu in the comments as the Leafs again looked overmatched by the Lightning.
