Tiger Woods Says He's Completed 'Intensive Program' and Continuing Recovery

"I recently completed an out of state private intensive program," Woods said in a statement. "I will continue to tackle this going forward with my doctors, family and friends. I am so very thankful for all of the support I’ve received."

Woods sought help after he was arrested in late May on charges of driving under the influence. On Memorial Day, Tiger was found asleep at the wheel of his car sitting on the side of a road, around nine miles away from his home in Jupiter, Florida. Later that day, the 41-year-old golfer discussed the matter, indicating that alcohol didn't play a part in his arrest. "I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved," he said. "What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly."

A few weeks after Woods' statement, an unredacted version of the police report from his DUI arrest was obtained by the Golf Channel. When asked by Officer Christopher Fandry if he had used any medication, the report indicates that Tiger acknowledged taking Xanax. The golfer later admitted he was on other medications, including Vicodin. The incident was clearly a wake-up call for Tiger who needed help.
