On this day—June 5—11 years ago, Paul Pierce further solidified his legacy with the "Wheelchair Game." During the third quarter of Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers, Pierce went down with what appeared to be a serious injury. Boston Celtics fans feared the worst, and their concerns were only heightened by the sight of The Truth getting awkwardly carried out by his teammates.

Viewers at home were subjected to the sight of Pierce getting taken to the locker in a wheelchair. By all accounts, anyone could have assumed that he was done. But a few minutes later, Pierce returned to the court, immediately knocked down back-to-back three-pointers, and helped lead the Celtics to the Game 1 victory.

Over time, Pierce's once-heroic moment started to become muddied by rumors that his Game 1 injury was actually because he needed to use the bathroom. Tonight, The Truth told the truth. "Something went down," Pierce said. "I had to go to the bathroom."

In light of this newfound revelation, Pierce has a message to everyone out there.
