Lonzo Ball made his Los Angeles Lakers debut on Friday during his team's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Clippers, and boy, it was awful. In his 32 minutes on the court, Ball scored just five points on 2-for-15 shooting from the field with five assists, four rebounds, and three turnovers.
Following the Lakers' 96-93 overtime loss, Lonzo's father LaVar spoke with reporters about his son's poor performance, admitting it was his "worst game ever." But, in true LaVar fashion, he found a way to put a positive spin on such a negative night.
When asked about the many spirited Lakers fans in attendance, Ball said, "Look how many Laker fans out here. He changed the culture. That's what it's about. It ain't about being a superstar, it's about him changing the culture. Instead of going to the movies, everybody going to watch the Lakers and Big Baller Brand. I'm outta here."
While it may not be a sign that Lonzo "changed the culture," Lakers fans did lose their minds the very first time Lonzo touched the ball.
This lead people to believe that Lakers fans are here for every minute of the Lonzo Ball experience.
