Orlando Cruz, 31, has made boxing history, but it's not for something he did inside the ring. Instead, he took a brave step forward in his life and revealed that he's gay. Cruz, the #4 ranked featherweight fighter by the WBO from Puerto Rico, also happens to be the first openly gay man in the sport.
Cruz (18-2-1, 9 KOs) could see a major title shot in the near future, if he is able to successfully defend his WBO NABO title against Jorge Pazos on October 19th.
