After defeating the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night, the Golden State Warriors sit at 15-0. This is noteworthy for a couple of reasons. One, starting a season 15-0 is just a ridiculous thing to do, and, two, they've now officially tied the NBA record for most wins in a row to start a season, set by the Washington Capitols in 1948-49 and the Houston Rockets during the 1993-1994 season.
The Warriors have only really been challenged by two teams, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors, as they've gone on their historic run. Stephen Curry is averaging an absurd 33.6 points per game, and the Warriors as a team are outscoring their opponents by 14.5 points while shooting almost 50 percent from the field. There weren't really even any highlight plays in the win against the Nuggets, aside from this tidy dunk from Harrison Barnes. They just surgically went about their business.
They've still got a long way to go before anyone even begins talking about the Warriors approaching the Chicago Bulls infamous 72-10 clip, but we're probably witnessing one of the best teams, at least in the regular season, in NBA history.
The Warriors will have their chance to make history again and move to 16-0 when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.
