Complex Says: We've all had that friend who can't quite wrap his head around the idea that Ferdinand Porsche designed both the original Volkswagen Beetle and the Porsche 911. Sure, maybe that friend has come around to believing it, but there's always that shocked moment of disbelief when you first tell him. We have a working theory that if you showed him the Porsche 356--Porsche's first production vehicle--this intuitive leap wouldn't be nearly so painful. Just like you can see how your mom got her nose from her great-grandma, you can see the family resemblance between all three cars.

Complex Says: TR6s and TR7s show up with regularity on eBay. We occasionally even see running examples out on the street. But TR3s are another matter entirely. Stylistically, this is miles apart from any other car Triumph ever produced. File this on the “cool” side of weird. It's weird because you don't see them come up often.

Complex Says: While we understand the appeal of a triangular wheel formation, we'll never be sure why the Reliant company, in its infinite wisdom, decided to put a single wheel up front and two in the rear. If you watch Top Gear, you may recall Jeremy Clarkson's experiment in Robin-driving. As Clarkson is a rather large man, we can assure you that it wasn't pretty. It was, however, hilarious. Complex Says: It's aptly named. Doesn't this car make you feel jollier just by looking at it? We think it's the combined effect of the tiny white-walled tires and the white trim accents. We also like the patio furniture seating, which we're sure must reduce this Jolly's weight considerably. We do, however, have to wonder how wicker seating holds up in a rain storm. Presumably, if you're the lucky winner of this auction, you'll want to keep her garaged on any days that aren't warm, dry, and sunny.

The seller of this “service car” is located in Vancouver--and he is confident that any buyer will love this truck. In fact, the seller insists that anyone who buys the truck should avoid sending money right away. Instead, if you're the lucky buyer, you're invited to go to Vancouver to examine the truck in person before you fork over the money. Now that's confidence. And hey, it's winter in Vancouver. You could get some nice skiing in before you head back home.

And the word “Ape” is pronounced “ah-pay.” Just as “vespa” means “wasp” in Italian, “ape” means “bee.” The present owner isn't sure how old his vehicle is, but it's an interesting starting point if you're into restoring quirky old cars like this. We hope the owner edits the listing with the proper spelling of “Vespa,” however--he'd probably get a lot more hits and be more successful at finding his Ape a new home that way.

Complex Says: This doesn't get an F in our boks. Early Detroit workmanship at its finest, the Cadillac Motor Company was just three years old when this baby burst forth onto the 1905 scene. The F refers to the body styling, not the car's base. Models E, F, K, M, S, and T were all so named as a means to differentiate body styling rather than delineate more significant differences between the models. The seller says this F has been partially restored, but just needs to be finished. At a starting bid of $20,000, you may want to get more details about what's already been done, and what still needs doing.

According to the seller, the vehicle weighs 6,000 lbs. and takes 50 to 60 people to pump when it's at full capacity. It may just be that we've grown accustomed to our modern firefighting conveniences, but that seems like an awful lot of firefighters.
