Metta World Peace Files Restraining Order Against Woman, Claims She Stalked Him and His Family

Metta World Peace has filed a restraining order against a woman who has allegedly made his life a living hell over the last few months.

According to TMZ Sports, World Peace—who re-signed with the Lakers on Wednesday—is alleging that a woman named Miesha Shakes has tormented him and his family. She has allegedly destroyed his property, threatened him with violence, and even waited for his children to leave school and confronted them. It's apparently gotten so bad that World Peace filed court documents asking a judge to grant him a restraining order that would keep the woman "1 million yards" away from him, his family, his home, his workplace, his kids' school, and even "Earth."

TMZ Sports reports that World Peace approached the LAPD recently and told them that Shakes has been pestering him with abusive emails since 2015. He claims that he doesn't know Shakes but says that her emails included violent threats against him. One reportedly said, "I apologize in advance. I'm going out with a bang. This will be the worst thing to ever happen in Westwood. Call cops I'm ready."

World Peace says Shakes also told him that she was going to attack his car and once threatened to hurt him with a knife. Additionally, she allegedly accused him of raping multiple women, and she has done more than just try to hurt him with words. She stands accused of tossing a brick through a window in a building he lives in and slashing the tires on one of his vehicles. There was also allegedly an incident that involved the woman attacking World Peace's 19-year-old daughter.

The judge, not surprisingly, shot down World Peace's request to keep the woman a million yards away from him, but Shakes will have to stay 100 yards away from World Peace for the foreseeable future. There's a hearing scheduled to take place sometime within the next two weeks to decide whether any other actions will be taken against Shakes.
