When you're on probation it's best not to drag race, something Jon Jones allegedly did Thursday night in Albuquerque. It sure seems like a simple enough concept. And yet Jones currently finds himself in a New Mexico county jail, the result of a judge issuing an arrest warrant for the UFC star after he violated the probation he was slapped with for pleading guilty to hit-and-run charges last year.

Jones' discretion that warranted the...warrant was the five citations he received for his supposed racing. For his part Jones denies any wrongdoing, and instead claims that he was simply revving his engine at fans.

He turned himself in earlier this morning. Soon afterward the UFC released a statement:

"UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week. UFC has been in touch with Jones’ legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information.”

So far Jones is yet to have his bail set:

And, as of now, he still has a fight scheduled for April 23 against Daniel Cormier. It's a re-match of the January 2015 fight between the two that got Jones the Light Heavyweight Championship, at least before it was stripped due to his aforementioned hit-and-run.
