Less than a week after news that Isaiah Thomas's 22-year-old younger sister, Chyna, died in a one-car crash, the Boston point guard has broken his silence about the tragedy. On Wednesday, Thomas did so through a statement:
Thomas has played in both of his team's playoff games thus far, as the one-seeded Celtics find themselves in an 0-2 hole to the Chicago Bulls. Coach Brad Stevens said that Thomas took a flight to Tacoma, Washington on Wednesday morning to be with his family for the squad's two-day break. He further added that no funeral services for Chyna have yet been arranged and that the plan is for Isaiah to rejoin the team when they head to Chicago for Game 3 on Friday evening.
