Watch a Blind and Deaf HS Football Player Find Out He's Going to Meet Drew Brees on 'Ellen'

High school football player Marvin Pearson has a pretty incredible story, and he shared it with the world during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday afternoon.

Marvin started to lose both his eye sight and his hearing when he was about 10, and he is now considered both blind and deaf. But despite the obvious setbacks, Pearson—who uses a cochlear implant to hear—refused to let his dreams of playing high school football one day die. He signed up to play at Pottstown High School in Pennsylvania once he got into high school, and he has maintained a spot on the team ever since. And in early October, he even scored his very first touchdown at the end of a game. You can watch it here:

During his sit-down interview with Ellen, Pearson spoke about how he has been able to overcome his blindness and deafness on the football field, and all indications are that he's a very positive person, in spite of the things that he's had to deal with in recent years. But the best part of the interview came at the end when Ellen asked him about his favorite NFL player Drew Brees. Pearson talked about why he loves the Saints quarterback so much—before Ellen surprised him by telling him that he is going to be flown to New Orleans this season to meet with Brees before a Saints game. And as if that wasn't enough, she also told him that Shutterfly was going to give him $10,000 towards his college education after he discussed which schools he's thinking about attending after high school.
