America's Team is now the most profitable franchise in the world as the Dallas Cowboys top Forbes' 50 Most Valuable Franchises list.

According to the financial magazine, the NFL team is valued at $5 billion with an operating income of $365 million. Forbes' reveal might be a bittersweet accomplishment for owner Jerry Jones. It's admirable that he was able to foster a very profitable organization, but as training camp approaches, Dallas' young star players are engaged in a financial tug-of-war with the franchise.

As of Monday, running back Ezekiel Elliot is still undecided on whether he will report to mandatory training camp or hold out. Currently, Elliot stands to make $3.85 million this season. Despite leading the league in rushing with 1,434 yards, he's just the 10th highest-paid back in the league. Similar to Elliot, wide receiver Amari Cooper is also engaged in contract negotiations. After hearing of the Cowboys' big profit, these players are probably hoping Jones finds a way to compensate them within the NFL's cap space.

Following the Cowboys are the New York Yankees. The historic MLB franchise earned $30 million this year and is valued at $4.6 billion. Coming in third is Real Madrid Soccer Club, valued at $4.24 billion with an income of $112 million. Real Madrid is followed by their rival Barcelona. Although Barcelona is valued at $4.02 billion, the team lost $37 million last year. Rounding out the top 5 are the New York Knicks. Despite being devoid of a star player, the Knicks are still the NBA's most valuable franchise at $4 billion.
