Karl-Anthony Towns Goes Off for 56 Points, Sets Franchise Record

Towns lead the Timberwolves to a 126-114 victory over the Hawks in spectacular fashion.

Karl-Anthony Towns was on fire Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks.

As the Timberwolves march toward their first playoff appearance since 2004, Towns exploded for 56 points, passing the previous franchise single-game scoring record of 52 points held by Mo Williams​.​

Towns reached 56 points on a three-pointer in the game's final two minutes, leading Minnesota to a 126-114 victory.

The third-year center finished the night with an impressive overall stat line: 56 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists.

The 22-year-old is the youngest player to tally 50 points and 15 rebounds in a game since Shaq did the same against the Timberwolves in 1994.
