Isaiah Thomas was ruled out from the Celtics' lineup for their Friday night home game against the Raptors due to his groin injury. So the All-Star point guard passed the time before the game by hanging with C's fan and his friends inside the TD Garden. Plus, he gave the kids an experience they'll never forget.
According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette‘s Bill Doyle, one of the kids got an opportunity to play against Thomas on the TD Garden's jumbotron for a one-on-one against him in NBA 2K following his win at the Shamrock's Gala event. You can see the action in the clip above.
Also, you can see the young Celtics fans looking tickled pink while playing against the Celtics best player.
Jay King of Mass Live commented on everything that went down between the young fan and Thomas playing on the jumbotron.
The team Isaiah chose was the Mavericks, not the Celtics because that would be too easy of a pick for him. And picking the Warriors was off limits.
If it was a real one-on-one, it's understandable if he let this kid get a couple points in. He loves making kids' dreams come true. But this is a video game, and this child probably has fingers that are just a quick as Isaiah to work a game controller, so he was merciless and wasn't afraid to rub it in.
