A Boston radio host has apologized for criticizing Tom Brady’s 5-year-old daughter on air.

Back in January, WEEI’s Alex Reimer received significant backlash after he referred to the quarterback’s child as “an annoying little pissant” during the Mut at Night radio show. The station later confirmed Reimer had been suspended over the comment; however, Brady later insisted he didn’t want the radio host to lose his job.

“It was very disappointing to hear that. My daughter or any child certainly does not deserve that,” Brady told the station during his weekly scheduled Monday interview. “[…] Look, I think we all go through our life, and sometimes we say things we shouldn’t say or make mistakes, and that happens. I can express it, and you move on.”

Well, it seems Brady’s compassion saved Reimer’s job.

“My remark about Tom Brady’s daughter was ridiculous and reprehensible. I am deserving of all the criticism that has come my way over the last four weeks. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologize to the Brady family. I am truly sorry,” Reimer wrote on WEEI.com. “I wrote Tom a note of apology and am grateful for his compassion. It is safe to say my father would not have acted as magnanimously if somebody talked about one of his kids in that fashion. No child should ever be mocked. It sickens me that I used my platform in such an odious manner.”

WEEI.com editor Rob Bradford told the Big Lead that Reimer would resume his role as a digital columnist; however, it is currently unclear if he will return to radio.
