A woman has reportedly sued Derrick Rose for drugging and gang raping her.

UPDATE (8/27/15):

Derrick Rose and his attorney Lisa Cohen have responded to the lawsuit filed against him. According to Cohen, who spoke with TMZ late last night, the suit is "an attempt to shake down a highly respected and successful athlete." Cohen told TMZ that Rose and the woman were in a "non-exclusive, consensual sexual relationship for over two years." She also said that she expects the suit filed against Rose to be dismissed.

"We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed," she told TMZ, "and that Mr. Rose will be vindicated. This lawsuit is outrageous."

TMZis reporting that a woman claiming to be Derrick Rose's ex-girlfriend has filed a lawsuit against him and accused him of drugging and gang raping her.

According to the TMZ report, the woman—identified only as Jane Doe—dated Rose from 2011 through 2013. She claims that, during an incident in August 2013, Rose and two of his friends, identified as Ryan Allen and Randall Hampton, invited her to Rose's home in Beverly Hills, Calif. and slipped a drug into her drink while she was there. She claims that she was able to escape the home with a friend but that Rose, Allen, and Hampton broke into her apartment later that night and raped her. In her lawsuit, the woman claims that she did not come forward sooner because she was "ashamed and embarrassed" by the alleged incident.

TMZ is reporting that the woman is seeking unspecified damages in her lawsuit. Rose is yet to respond to the allegations. We will keep you updated on this story moving forward.
