A few years ago, golfer Bubba Watson spent $110,000 on one of the "General Lee" cars that was used during the filming of the 1970s TV show, The Dukes of Hazzard.
The cars obviously featured Confederate flags on the top of them, though. So with all of the recent controversy surrounding the Confederate flag because of the tragedy that took place in Charleston, S.C. last month, Watson has decided that he's going to paint an American flag over the Confederate flag on the car he owns. He announced his decision last night on Twitter:
Watson obviously isn't the first person to make a decision like this. NASCAR has asked its fans not to display the Confederate flag during races moving forward, and TV Land has actually pulled all of its re-runs of Dukes of Hazzard for the time being. But despite this, Watson is catching hell from fans of the show—and, seemingly, fans of the flag—who are upset about his idea to remove it. Scroll down to see some of the responses that he has received to his tweet.
