Blake Griffin to the Celtics? There's Another Crazy Trade Rumor Brewing in Boston

Are you still trying to wrap your head around the idea of the Celtics and Thunder potentially working out a trade for Russell Westbrook? Well, PREPARE TO HAVE YOUR MIND BLOWN.

Just one day after Bleacher Report reporter Howard Beck reported that Boston would be the "most likely" trade destination if Oklahoma City ultimately decides to deal Westbrook, there’s yet another crazy trade rumor floating around out there involving the Celtics. According to Sporting News reporter Sean Deveney, it’s "unlikely" Westbrook will get traded to the Celtics this summer, due to the fact that he is set to become a free agent after the 2016-17 NBA season. But Deveney has spoken with several sources who have told him that the Celtics might be trying to work out a trade with the Clippers that would bring Blake Griffin to Boston instead.

Deveney reports that, in order to complete a trade for Griffin, the Celtics would likely have to part ways with several of the draft picks they've stockpiled, including at least one of the picks they will receive from the Nets over the next two years. They would also reportedly have to convince a team like the Kings, who have been looking to trade Rudy Gay, to get involved with the deal so that the Clippers are able to add a "frontline star" to their roster to replace Griffin.

At this point, it doesn’t sound like there's a definitive proposed deal in place. And in fact, outside of reporting on the possibility of a trade involving Griffin, Deveney is also reporting the Celtics could be interested in working out a deal with the Cavaliers for Kevin Love. But is that stopping Celtics fans from getting excited about Griffin possibly landing in Boston? Nope.
