Trae Young has hit back at Patrick Beverly following recent comments the former Minnesota Timberwolves player made against him.

In a lengthy video shared on YouTube, the Atlanta Hawks point guard didn't hold back while addressing claims he isn't a "good leader," which Beverly had said on his eponymous podcast.

"I just want to talk about Pat," he said at the start of the video, noting that he's been busy getting ready for the new NBA season. "Let’s talk about who you are. A one-time first team all defensive player, a two-time second team defensive player. Some accolades people can only dream of having.

"Not a lot of people in the NBA can even say that they’ve had those type of accolades. We naming facts. Those are unbelievable achievements and things that nobody can ever take away from you. You went to the playoffs nine times, I’ve only been to the playoffs three."

He also wanted to highlight that they’ve both been to one conference finals, but it took Beverley nine years to do it while it only took Young three years. "What have you won? Tell me, what have you won?" he asked. "You made it to the NBA, there’s very few people that can say that. But at the same time, bro, there’s levels to this shit."

He maintained that Beverley has a long list of accolades and earned a reputation as a "tough defender," but that he himself was "never scared" of him when they were on the court together.

Young's comments come after Beverley called out Young on a recent episode of his podcast, insisting that players who previously played with him in Atlanta didn’t "think he’s a good leader" or teammate.

"I don’t think he’s won enough to even speak to me… He’s been to the playoffs three times. I’ve been to the playoffs nine. My first seven years, I didn’t miss the playoffs at all," said Beverley. "You can make all the money you want. You can have all the leading assists you want. You can do all that. If you don’t win, that shit won’t matter. If you don’t win, when you retire they’re gonna forget your name."

In response, Young shared a tweet where he told Beverley to "relax," while Kevin Durant said Beverly sounded "delusional."
