Tom Brady used April Fools' Day of all days to announce that he's officially joined the hellhole that is Twitter. Making the most of the opportunity, he made sure his first tweet addressed the day at hand. "I'm retiring, in my spare time, I'll be tweeting," he said.
Shortly after, he made sure to clarify that it was, in fact, a joke. "Was this a bad joke?" he tweeted.
The New England Patriots themselves reacted to the tweet with a GIF showing how little they're amused, while his teammate Tedy Bruschi chimed in by calling his tweets a "Twitter rookie move." Meanwhile, NFL insiders jokingly took this as a confirmation that Brady's playing for another 10 seasons and won't retire anytime soon.
As if it wasn't already obvious, Brady is sticking around for better or for worse. Recently, Captain America himself, Chris Evans, stated that if Brady was still on board with Donald Trump, he'd "cut ties" with the quarterback. "Maybe he thought it was going to be different—and even that bothers me—but maybe there's a chance now he just thinks Trump's an absolute dumb shit, which he is," he explained.
