After rumors had swirled since the Panthers rescinded their franchise tag from Josh Norman Wednesday, the Washington Redskins made it official Friday, inking the shutdown corner to a five-year deal.
Josh Norman's 5-year, $75M deal with the #Redskins includes $50M in guarantees, source said. Wow.
For the Panthers, the move freed up $13.952 million in salary-cap space. Norman's first visit was to Washington, and he signed the same day he arrived.

Norman, 28, is coming off his best season as a pro. He helped lead the Panthers to the Super Bowl. The Saints made a late push but didn't have cap space to match the Redskins.
From on @NFLTotalAccess: Last night, Josh Norman narrowed his focus to #Redskins & #Saints. Sean Payton called him personally. In talks now

One interesting wrinkle of this move: Norman now plays in the NFC East, which means we'll be privy to two Norman/Odell Beckham Jr. matchups a year. This is going to be fun.
