The suspected gunman in the shooting of David Ortiz was part of an orchestrated hit, according to NBC News.

On Wednesday, the attorney general of the Dominican Republic, Jean Alain Rodríguez, reported that local police have arrested five men in connection to the crime. This includes Eddy Vladimir Feliz Garcia who was arrested at the scene on Sunday after witnesses apprehended him. Although all the suspects have yet to be revealed, Oliver Moises Mirabal Acosta and Ramon Martinez Perez were identified as the other accomplices while Rolfy Ferreyra is the alleged shooter. Police are currently declining to disclose the motive. Yet, they did state that the coordinator of the attack was attempting to collect a 400,000 peso—which amounts to about less than $8,000—bounty that was placed on Ortiz.

Garcia was charged with being an accomplice to attempted murder on Tuesday. He was allegedly captured on camera driving the motorcycle that was used to help Oliver Moises Mirabal Acosta flee the scene. Prior to this, Acosta was driving a gray Hyundai Accent to the scene of the crime. Police also recovered the gun used in the crime and presented it to the media during a press conference held on Wednesday.
