Although the beef between coaches and referees will always be present, tensions boiled over at a Wisconsin basketball game when it was reported that former Green Bay Packers Coach Mike McCarthy went on a "verbal tirade" against a crew of high school officials.

In a video obtained by local FOX 11, McCarthy is seen following officials after the final buzzer. Despite the lack of audio, witnesses say that during this time McCarthy was spewing "vulgar" language in ways many have not seen.

"This parent chose to follow the officials and berate them. Which is unacceptable." Pulaski High School's Athletic Director Janel Batten said. She then claimed to never have experienced something like this in her five-year tenure.

"Some things were said, some language was used that we don't want in our gym, unsportsmanlike language," Batten added.

McCarthy's actions are said to be sparked by Notre Dame Academy's one-point loss to Pulaski High School. According to those in attendance McCarthy—whose stepson plays for Notre Dame Academy—took objection to how the game was officiated. This led to the verbal assault.

Now, McCarthy is being investigated by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) for his alleged abuse against contest officials.

Notre Dame Academy has since issued a statement regarding the investigation and the "unfortunate situation."

"We have been contacted by the WIAA regarding last night’s basketball game, and we are currently looking further into this situation," Notre Dame Academy's Athletic Director Steph Mathu's statement reads. "We will continue to stress the importance of sportsmanship and respect to our students, parents, fans, and community members."

McCarthy has yet to publish a response.
