Did the Knicks Secretly Try to Include Kevin Durant in Their Season Ticket Renewal Page?

The Knicks' season ticket renewal page allegedly featured an image of rookie Mitchell Robinson with Kevin Durant standing beside him. Coincidence?

If the New York Knicks are trying to downplay how confident they are in landing Kevin Durant this offseason, then the organization is doing a terrible job. Earlier today, Paul Lee posted a screenshot of the season ticket holders renewal page, which featured a photo of Mitchell Robinson crouched down alongside Durant.

Lee claims fellow season ticket holder Christian Koch encountered the same situation and was able to screengrab the entire browser, along with a glimpse of the same image of Robinson and Durant at the bottom of the screen.

On January 31, the Knicks dealt Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks in a seven-player deal that ultimately helped New York free up enough money for two max contract player this summer. The overwhelming belief is that the Knicks were confident in their chances of landing KD, and the additional cap space will be used to sweeten their offer of pairing him with another superstar free agent, like Kyrie Irving or Kemba Walker

Rumors linking him to the Knicks came to a head earlier this week when Durant pushed back against reporters pestering him about his upcoming free agency. "I have nothing to do with the Knicks," he said. "I don't know who traded Porzingis. That got nothing to do with me. I'm trying to play basketball." For now, it should only be about basketball for Durant. Ask him on July 1.
