Following a year-long stretch where he played 10 games with the Buffalo Bills before spending less than four months as a member of the New England Patriots, Jordan Matthews has returned to the Philadelphia Eagles. Matthews, who was taken by the Eagles with the 42nd overall pick in the 2014 Draft, finds himself back in Philly because the organization is currently dealing with an injury-riddled receiving corps.

During his time away from the Eagles, Matthews has experienced one major change in his personal life—he’s a father now. Matthews credits Buffalo with playing a pivotal role in the birth of his child, but it's not like the city contributed in some sort of romantic or heartwarming way.

As someone who hasn't lived in Buffalo, but spent fours years attending college in upstate New York, it's definitely a "life is what you make it" situation. Considering he was also an NFL player who probably wanted to avoid being seen in public, Matthews' options for activities outside the game of football were especially limited.

"When I was in Buffalo, there was like nothing to do there, except … have fun with your wife. She got pregnant," Matthews said, perNBC Sports. "So we always say we got a Buffalo baby. Ain’t nothing to do there, except each other."

Jordan's wife Cheyna Matthews, who plays as a forward in the National Women's Soccer League for the Washington Spirit, took to IG to announce the birth of their child back in August.
