Former NBA player JJ Hickson was arrested this weekend and has been charged with armed robbery with a knife.

According to Fox 5, authorities say that at least two individuals were involved in a “frightening home invasion” that took place Friday in Coweta County, Georgia; however, Hickson is the only suspect who has been charged. Local law enforcement confirmed several personal items were stolen during the incident, and that someone had been assaulted.

“The victim was beat up pretty good and they took some personal items from the residence and at that point in time through the help of a canvass we were able to identify a suspect and a suspect vehicle,” Captain John Kennedy, of Coweta County Sheriff's Office, said. “We were able to identify a suspect from that.”

Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Hickson is currently being held without bond in the Coweta County Jail. He is expected to appear in court on Saturday.

Hickson, a North Carolina State alumnus, began his NBA career in 2008, when he was drafted by Cleveland as the 19th pick. The now-29-year-old went on to play for the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, and Washington Wizards through his eight-year career in the league. In 2016, Hickson headed overseas to play in China, and most recently played for the Champville SC team in Lebanon.
