A week from now, Patriots and Eagles fans will know whether or not their team was victorious in Super Bowl LII. But for the time being, they’re going to have to spend the next six days listening to people predict who will win the big game.

Both teams and their fans should probably ignore most of those predictions since they’ll be based on little more than opinions. But they might want to pay attention to the prediction that was just made by Madden NFL 18.

The good folks at EA Sports have been using the Madden franchise to predict Super Bowls for more than a decade now, and their predictions have been remarkably accurate. Madden has properly predicted the winners in 10 of the last 14 Super Bowls. Most recently, Madden NFL 17 predicted the Patriots would beat the Falcons in Super Bowl LI. And while no one could have predicted how New England would do it, rallying from a 28-3 second half deficit to stun Atlanta, Madden did predict the Patriots would need a comeback late in the fourth quarter to win, which turned out to be the case.

So what is Madden NFL 18 predicting for this year’s Super Bowl? Well, let’s just say Eagles fans aren’t going to be happy with the proposed outcome. According to the Madden NFL 18 Super Bowl LII simulation, Tom Brady and the Patriots will win yet another ring this season with Brady walking away with his fifth Super Bowl MVP award overall after throwing for 342 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Madden NFL 18 is calling for a 24-20 Patriots win.

That prediction might not sit well with the Philly fans out there. But the good news for NFL fans as a whole is that, if the Madden NFL 18 simulation is any indication, Super Bowl LII should be a doozy. The sim had the game coming down to the final play with Eagles quarterback Nick Foles lofting a pass up to Alshon Jeffery for a potential game-winning touchdown before Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore stepped in and knocked it down.

You can see the simulation for yourself above. Do you think Madden will be correct yet again this season?
