Itβs not exactly a secret that Charles Barkley enjoys eating. If you want to hear about how he almost ate himself right out of being the 5th overall pick in the 1984 NBA Draft, you should listen to his recent appearance on Ryen Russilloβs ESPN podcast. Barkley talked about how he went on a 48-hour eating "bender" right before a big meeting with the Sixers in an effort to force the team to draft someone else.
Barkley isnβt here for NBA fans who make fun of him for loving food, though. While heβs more than willing to take some friendly ribbing from Shaq and the other guys on TNTβs Inside the NBA, he doesnβt take too kindly to those on social media who try to take aim at him with jokes about his weightβand he proved it again on Thursday night.
Shortly after the Inside the NBA cast discussed the NBA All-Star draft, a Lakers fan chimed in on Twitter with a joke about how Barkley would have picked Krispy Kreme donuts with the No. 1 pick in the All-Star draft if given the opportunity.
Barkley responded by clapping back at the fan. Even though TNT was scheduled to take a commercial break, he let off a few shots at the guy and even took it to a pretty personal level.
"Look at your fatass, too!" Barkley yelled. "Donβt be sittingβput that dudeβs picture back up. Do not go to commercial break! This fat Laker fan. Heβs going to talk about me eating donuts. Look at his fatass. Are you kidding me?"
Fortunately, the Lakers fan didnβt take any offense to what the former NBA star said.
The fan even challenged the Chuckster to a donut-eating contest.
No word on whether or not thatβs going to happen, but clearly, the fan was able to touch a nerve here.
