Immediately after Betances's ejection, reliever David Robertson came in and hit the very next hitter on an 0-2 count (though we're going to go ahead and state the obvious, that this wasn't intentional):

A Thursday afternoon baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and a Yankees squad fighting for a playoff spot devolved into an actual fight after hometown slugger Miguel Cabrera got into a heated argument with NY catcher Austin Romine.
The brawl transpired after Cabrera took exception to a pitch by Yanks reliever Tommy Kahnle that went behind him. The umps then ejected Kahnle, as well as an enraged Joe Girardi who went out to dispute that decision. Also, earlier in the game, Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez was plunked by Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer:
While new pitcher Aroldis Chapman was finishing up tossing his warmup pitches, Cabrera threw the punch that got players sprinting out of dugouts/bullpens. As noted by Tigers beat reporter Jason Beck, the two teams had a previous incident that took place about three-and-a-half weeks ago:
Both Cabrera and Romine were ejected from the game, with suspensions probably upcoming (at least for Cabrera). Also worth nothing is that Romine's brother, Andrew, happens to play for the Tigers.
No word on whose back he had in the midst of that pile.
