Nikita Whitlock, the New York Giants fullback who was suspended earlier in the season for violating the league's PED policy, had his New Jersey apartment burglarized on Tuesday night. But it isn't what the burglars took that's making headlines on Thursday, it's what they left behind. According to Whitlock, whoever broke into his home put a swastika on one of his walls and also wrote "KKK," "Go Back to Africa," and "F*cking N*gger" on other walls. Whitlock posted a photo of some of the damage that was done on Instagram on Wednesday.

Whitlock told police that the thieves took jewelry and video game systems and that they entered through a small window as his wife and two kids were out for a few hours. For whatever reason, several other electronics were not taken during the break-in. Whitlock claimed this is the second time that his apartment has been broken into, following a robbery on Thanksgiving. Police are currently investigating both incidents.

Whitlock said that he's lived in the apartment for less than six months. "It just re-establishes that no matter where you are, no matter who you are, this can happen to you," he said. "It's about to be 2017. Oppression, violence, racism, hatred, violence, there's no need for that."

"It's very disgusting, actually; it's very disheartening," his wife, Ashley, added. "You hear about things that do happen, but you never think, 'Oh, this is going to happen to me.'"

Whitlock's 10-game suspension for taking a banned substance is the second such suspension of his career, with his most recent one costing him more than $200,000 in salary. The 25-year-old is currently on injured reserve after suffering a foot injury in preseason. Last year, as a rookie, he recorded five tackles and a sack after taking snaps on both special teams and at defensive tackle.
