Less than 24 hours after he tried to throw a chair at UFC lightweight titleholder Eddie Alvarez, Conor McGregor is now stirring up the pot with the current UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley. The two fighters met on Friday at a weigh-in for UFC 205 where each man will fight—though not against one another—and they reportedly had a brief confrontation where they exchanged words and, at one point, even squared up with one another.
Woodley elaborated about what happened on Twitter after initial reports about the confrontation starting to come out:
Never one to turn down the opportunity to talk some trash, McGregor then jumped in and referred to Woodley as a "bitch" not once:
But twice:
It's not all that surprising to see McGregor talking trash to a fellow fighter, but he usually reserves his words for the guy he's going up against as opposed to another fighter on the same card as him.
Woodley is set to defend his welterweight title against Stephen Thompson at UFC 205 on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. McGregor is also scheduled to make his lightweight debut in a match for Alvarez's belt. If he's able to win it, McGregor—who currently holds the featherweight belt—would become the first UFC fighter to ever hold two title belts at the same time. At Thursday's UFC 205 press conference he said that he intends to continue to go up in weight to achieve his goal of holding "all the belts."
