Former San Francisco 49ers fullback Bruce Miller was arrested Monday morning following an altercation where he allegedly assaulted two people, including a 70-year-old man.

According to TMZ Sports, Miller tried checking into the Fisherman's Wharf Marriott Hotel on Sunday night, but was told that all the rooms were taken. The 29-year-old returned to the hotel the following morning, knocked on one of the guest room's doors when the person inside the neighboring room opened his door to tell him that he had the wrong person, Miller allegedly attacked him. When his 70-year-old father tried to step in, and break things up, Miller punched the elderly male in the face, breaking several bones, perSan Francisco KTVU. Both men were taken to a nearby hospital.

Miller has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of making criminal threats, and battery. His bail has been set at $178,000. Shortly after the incident surfaced, the Niners released a statement, saying, "The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the media report regarding Bruce Miller. We are gathering the relevant facts of this matter and will continue to monitor the situation." However, a few hours later, they announced that they have released Miller. He spent his entire 5-year NFL career with the team.

Last year, Miller was charged with a domestic violence misdemeanor following an incident with his ex-fiancée on March 5. Miller eventually plead no contest after prosecutors could not verify the allegation that he pushed his then-fiancée to the ground and went on to deny that any physical contact occurred. The dispute led to their engagement being broken off.
