LeBron James Jokes About Michael Jordan Closing Out Playoff Series Quicker Than Him

When LeBron James takes the floor for Game 2 of the Cavaliers’ playoff series against the Pistons tonight, he will pass Michael Jordan in career playoff games. It will be the 180th playoff game of LeBron’s career.

Earlier today, LeBron was asked what it will mean for him to pass MJ, and he showed that he has a sense of humor about the whole thing. Rather than celebrating his accomplishment, he had this to say:

LeBron's playoff stats actually stack up nicely against MJ’s stats. According to this ESPN.com video, MJ averaged 33.4 points per game, 5.2 more than LeBron, but LeBron has averaged 6.7 assists per game, 1.0 more than MJ, and 8.7 rebounds per game, 2.2 more than MJ. MJ also had just four more playoff wins than LeBron at this point in his career. But unfortunately for LeBron, all most people care about are the numbers at the bottom of this graphic:
