If you haven't noticed by now, Vince McMahon runs a really tight ship at the WWE. He controls just about everything, right down to the words and phrases that announcers are and aren't allowed to say during events. We know this because, a couple weeks ago, a large document featuring suggesti-, er, mandates for all of the WWE's announcers leaked out.

Now, former WWE writer Kevin Erkhas released a list of even more words and phrases that were on the WWE's "banned" list during his tenure. Here are just a few of them:

  • Fake
  • Feud
  • It will be
  • Major announcement
  • Non-title match
  • Return match
  • Royal Rumble (outside of referring to the actual Royal Rumble)

Erk also pointed out that the WWE has told announcers not to refer to Roman Reigns' Samoan heritage during his matches. Why? Your guess is as good as ours. You can see his full list with explanations for each entry here.

Of course, all this should be taken with a grain of salt. There's no way of knowing whether or not Erk is telling the truth. But given what we think we know about McMahon and the WWE, it's amazing that their announcers are allowed to say anything at this point.
