If you're going to be transporting drugs, it's best to follow the rules of the road. There's no reason to bring about unnecessary attention to yourself. Even the lowest level dealers know this, and they'll surely smack their foreheads at any amateur unable to comply with this simple principle.

Enter Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott, who was arrested earlier this morning as the passenger of a driver who couldn't help but get himself pulled over. Said driver, 20-year-old Antonn Imhotep Scott, was reportedly "following too close to other vehicles" and as police attempted to pull him over, he allegedly "sped up to 98 MPH" in an effort to get away (though he ultimately relented after about two miles).

When police approached the car, the two advised them they had pot. According to the local authorities they discovered:

"Over an ounce of Marijuana in the vehicle along with approximately 10.9 grams of MDMA [Molly]."

Afterwards, both suspects were arrested and booked into jail. Their bail is yet to be determined. The charges facing ScottMike Scott are "felony possession of marijuana and possession of Schedule I drug."

And, in case you were wondering upon noticing the last names, the two are brothers.

The 27-year-old forward has played for Atlanta for the past three seasons and came off the bench in 68 games last year for the Eastern Conference's top seed. In those contests he averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 rebounds.

Update:

The Atlanta Hawks have released a generic statement regarding the arrest(s). Says Head Coach Mike Budenholzer:

"We are aware of the situation involving Mike Scott this morning. Out of respect for the legal process, we will not have any additional comments at this time.”
